MAINTAIN HIGH PRODUCTIVITY
A reliable, well-designed cable plant plays
an important role in the productivity of an organization. Whether
in the data center or out on the floor, moving information quickly,
accurately and efficiently, requires a stable and effective cabling
system. A high-performance cable system allows you to quickly deploy
resources, readily manage change and ensure that critical services
won’t be affected by poorly performing physical infrastructure.
Because it is hidden in walls or inside the computer room, cabling
is not often a first priority from a project planning standpoint.
However, like any aspect of technology, a cabling design should
be considerate of business goals, technology drivers, costs, time
horizons, user profiles, etc. Moving to a new facility or renovating
an existing infrastructure is the best time to assess requirements
and ensure that the best possible solution is being put into place.
The cable plant has to support a variety of different technologies
over many years; therefore it is critical that the optimal type
and quantity of cabling be installed.
INDEPENDENT TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Our role is to serve as the bridge across IT, Facilities and the
broader design team, translating technology requirements into designs
for the built environment. We produce thorough, detailed designs
– drawings and specifications - that cover all aspects of
installation and system performance requirements. This helps avoid
costly change order requests and promotes consistent, quality practices
during construction.
Because we are unaffiliated with cabling vendors, contractors or
distribution houses, HILDEBRANDT BAKER ROBBINS offers
objective, independent advice. A long-standing corporate member
of BICSI, we employ many RCDD certified consultants - the worldwide
certification and gold standard for Information Transport Systems
(ITS) professionals who design technology infrastructures and facilities.
Working closely with your internal IT, Facilities and management
personnel, as well as architects and engineers, we ensure technology
requirements are addressed ahead of time, the building design supports
the technology function and that potential conflicts are identified
and resolved before construction begins. Advanced in-house CAD (computer-aided
design) software is used to prepare all project drawings, enabling
detailed coordination with the design team.
COMPREHENSIVE BEST-PRACTICES
DESIGNS
HILDEBRANDT BAKER ROBBINS designs structured cable
plants in facilities large and small, for data centers, single floors,
entire buildings or multi-building campus environments. We will
help you achieve the following:
| •
|
Planning of copper twisted
pair, fiber optic and coaxial structured cable systems, including
cable specifications, installation and labeling details |
| •
|
Design of conduit, cable tray, riser
systems and related pathways to support cabling infrastructures
and cable routing/management |
| •
|
Layout of technology spaces, such as
telecom rooms, with detailed rack designs, ladder rack routes,
and hardware specifications |
| •
|
Coordination with project engineers for
electrical and cooling requirements for technology spaces |
| •
|
Design of copper or fiber optic backbones
for large networks, including entrance cabling and outside plant
connections |
| •
|
Manufacturer certification via strict
testing methods to verify system performance and obtain optimal
performance warranties |
| •
|
Integration with existing infrastructures
for expansion or renovation projects |
We remain involved with your project from
the early design phases through the end of construction, monitoring
the installation, coordinating with contractors and verifying the
work is performed as designed.
